Digital art has provided a great amount of room to experiment without having to be worried/limited by work materials on hand. I have my qualms with this polarizing medium that seems to be a touchy subject with some other artists, but just like everything else in the world, not everything is entirely horrible. It has its place in expression, and I think it only truly matters that art is made by humans and not stolen in mass and disgustingly regurgitated by AI.
My digital brushes of choice are based on traditional mediums and have been able to translate a lot of that experience to those respective art mediums in real life. I prefer traditional mediums as they’re far more tactile and aesthetically have more texture going on with them. I genuinely keep myself shortcut-illiterate so I don’t implement too many ways to bypass learning opportunities that come with having to erase and redraw lines to correct them. But it’s a lot of fun to be able to do things like sharing the process of a piece or go back to old work to compare my old work flow to what it is now. It’s the one thing I can’t do without a lot more difficulty if I were to try to record my art processes in real life for more than a couple of seconds at a time.
This page is a culmination pieces I drew using the art programs Procreate and Clip Studio Paint on iPad. Thanks for looking!
